Statistical Methods for the Generation of Climate Data Adapted to Hydrological Impact Studies

Presentation of two examples of applications for generating or adapting climate data for hydrological purposes:

  • Development of a stochastic precipitation field generator for mountain catchments (DTG-EDF)
    The aim of this work is to provide the distributed hydrological model MORDOR with high-resolution, detailed input data
  • Revision of culvert design criteria for drainage basins (Ministry of Transport of Quebec)
    This study focused on estimating summer peak discharges using hydrological simulations from the GR5H-CemaNeige hydrological model. The sensitivity of the hydrological model to internal climate variability was assessed using the set of hourly regional simulations (CRCM5-LE). This work led to the development of a bias correction method that preserves internal climate variability
