Importance of Vegetation Information for Hydrological Model Transfer. The Case of the BBH Model

The BBH model is a conceptual daily soil hydrology model that represents the surface water balance using seven parameters, initially calibrated with soil moisture and soil texture data. A key parameter, sigma, describing vegetation resistance to evapotranspiration, has traditionally been considered constant, which is a limitation. This study aims to let sigma vary over time, evaluate the impact of this modification on runoff simulation performance, and test the transferability of both the original and improved model versions.
